Miscellaneous Proceedings
The Department of Energy is sometimes required by statute to conduct reviews or issue approvals that may be of general interest to the public and do not fall into another proceeding category such as investigations, rulemakings, or complaints. Department actions that may be of general interest are designated as Miscellaneous Proceedings.
The Department of Energy conducts proceedings to fulfill its purpose to, "... improve the administration of state government by providing unified direction of policies, program, and personnel in the field of energy and utilities, making possible increased efficiency and economies from integrated administration and operation of the various energy and utility related functions of the state government." RSA 12-P:2, II. There are occasions when a Department proceeding does not fall squarely within the nature of an investigative, judicative or rulemaking proceeding.
