New Hampshire Department of Energy releases updated 10-Year State Energy Strategy

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Energy (NHDOE) announced today the release of the update to New Hampshire’s 10-Year Energy Strategy

“Energy policy is an overarching issue that impacts every Granite Stater, and every decision should be looked at through the lens of the ratepayer,” said NHDOE Commissioner Jared Chicoine. “This update of the 10-Year State Energy Strategy will help ensure that New Hampshire’s responsible approach to energy promotes innovation, sustainability, and affordability.”

“This update of the 10-Year State Energy Strategy lays out goals, principles, and recommendations for the future of energy in New Hampshire,” said NHDOE Director of Policy and Programs Josh Elliott. “We aimed to provide a useful resource for legislators and policymakers as they contemplate their energy-related decisions, as well as for Granite Staters looking to learn more about energy matters in the state and region, particularly during this time of high energy costs.”

This document updates the 2018 10-Year State Energy Strategy, which the Office of Strategic Initiatives authored. The statutory responsibility to update the State Energy Strategy was transferred from OSI to NHDOE when the agency was created on July 1, 2021.

The updated 10-Year State Energy Strategy can be found on NHDOE’s website.
